As your campground grows, more people end up touching the system. A weekend front desk hire takes bookings. A manager keeps an eye on the calendar. Someone handles the invoices. You want them all helping out, but you do not want to hand every one of them the keys to everything.
Staff Roles & Permissions in Camper BMS lets you decide exactly what each person can do, and which of your campgrounds they can do it in. Give people the access that fits their job, keep the sensitive areas to yourself, and change any of it in a couple of clicks.
Two simple parts: what, and where
Access is made up of two things, and a person needs both before they can do anything:
- Groups and permissions decide what a person can do, like manage bookings or view finance.
- Campground access decides where they can do it, which of your campgrounds they can work in.
Someone in a group with no campground access cannot do anything yet, and neither can someone with campground access who is not in any group. The two work together, so you always know precisely what each person can reach.
Build permission groups around real roles
Groups bundle permissions together so you can set them up once and reuse them. Create a "Front desk" group, a "Managers" group, or whatever matches the way your team is organised, tick what that group is allowed to do, and assign people to it.
The permission grid gives you fine control. For each feature you choose between two abilities:
- View lets the group see that area.
- Manage lets them make changes, and always includes View.
That means a group can be allowed to view bookings without being able to change them, or given full manage access where they need it. You can control bookings, leases, customers, finance, pricing, discounts, add-ons, messaging, surveys, campsites and areas, settings, developer and integrations, and staff management, each one on its own.
Scope staff to the campgrounds they work at
If you run more than one campground, campground access keeps people to the locations that are actually theirs. A front desk worker can be given Manage bookings through their group, but access to only the one campground they work at. The same group can power the front desk at every location, while each person sees just their own site.
The most sensitive controls stay with you
The account owner always has full access and cannot be limited by a group. A few areas are reserved for the owner alone and can never be handed to a group: billing and plan changes, your organisation and account settings, and importing or exporting data. So even when you bring more people in, the things that matter most stay firmly in your hands.
You can also only grant abilities you hold yourself, so no one can quietly give away more access than they have. It is delegation without losing the plot.
Invite a team member in a couple of clicks
Adding someone is quick: enter their email address, choose the groups they should belong to, and pick their campground access. They show as Pending until they accept, then become Active. From there you can change their groups, adjust their campground access, or remove them whenever you need to, and the change takes effect straight away.
It all lives under Organisation > Staff, alongside everything else you already run your park from. Staff Roles & Permissions is built into the same system that handles your bookings, leases, finance and more, so there is no extra tool to learn.
Common questions
Can one person be in more than one group?
Yes. A staff member can belong to several groups at once and receives the combined permissions of all of them, so you can layer a general role with an extra one when you need to.
What is the difference between View and Manage?
View lets a group see an area. Manage lets them make changes, and Manage always includes View. Some areas, such as Finance and Pricing, only offer Manage.
Can I limit a staff member to one campground?
Yes. Campground access decides where a person can work. Give them their group's permissions, then grant access to just the one location they work at. A front desk worker can manage bookings at a single campground without touching the others.
What happens when I remove someone?
They lose all access to your organisation's campgrounds and data immediately. You can also change someone's groups or campground access at any time, and the change applies straight away.
